Building Community Through Play: Outdoor Day
January 2026 ยท Trujillo, Peru
Music teaches discipline, focus, and expression โ but children also need space to just be kids. In January 2026, our team organized a full day of outdoor activities for our students in Trujillo, stepping away from the piano and into the sunshine.
A Day Full of Joy
From hula hoops and relay races to team-building games and group challenges, the day was designed to strengthen the bonds between students, reinforce trust, and build the kind of community that makes learning thrive. Laughter filled the air from morning to afternoon.
Why Play Matters
For many of our students, who live in orphanages or displacement centers, structured play with caring adults is not a given. Our outdoor days are a reminder that Rising with Melodies is not just a music program โ it is a safe, joyful community where every child belongs.
What We Learned
The connections formed on the field carry back into the music room. Students who laugh together, encourage each other through a game, and cheer for a teammate bring that same spirit to their lessons. Play and music are two sides of the same gift.
Every child deserves a day when the only thing on the schedule is joy.
