Slide 1 · Opening quote
Show before speaking. Stay on this slide for the opening gratitude. Approx. 0:00-0:20
P Thank you. This means a great deal to me, and I'm honored to be recognized alongside so many people doing meaningful work.
Delivery: Warm and calm. Look up after “Thank you.” [PAUSE 1 second] Let the audience absorb the opening image and quote.
Change to Slide 2 · Gratitude
Change slides when you begin: “I want to thank PASV and the Atlanta Business Club...” Keep this slide through the recognition and support message. Approx. 0:20-0:55
MF I want to thank PASV and the Atlanta Business Club for this recognition, and for supporting the kind of work that doesn't always make headlines but changes lives one child at a time.
Delivery: Sincere and steady. Give “changes lives” a little emphasis. [PAUSE 0.5 seconds]
Change to Slide 3 · Team collage
Change slides when you say: “I also want to thank our incredible local staff in Peru, and the volunteers...” Keep the collage stable; do not change individual images.
MF I also want to thank our incredible local staff in Peru, and the volunteers who've helped us launch our English school — this work doesn't happen without you.
Delivery: Open your tone slightly on “incredible local staff” and “volunteers.” Finish “without you” warmly, then [PAUSE 1 second].
Change to Slide 4 · Antony
Change slides when you say: “But mostly, I want to tell you about Antony.” Pause after his name, then advance. Stay on Slide 4 through the entire personal story and mission realization. Approx. 0:55-2:15
MF But mostly, I want to tell you about Antony.
Delivery: Slow down. Make “Antony” personal and direct. [LOOK UP] [PAUSE 1.5 seconds]
MF When we were first setting up our music school in Peru, I taught piano myself — starting with the basics, the notes, A through G. Antony could barely get through them. His fingers fumbled, he lost his place, he'd start over again and again.
Delivery: Conversational at first, then slower for the struggle. Separate the short images: “His fingers fumbled.” [PAUSE 0.5 seconds] “He lost his place.” [PAUSE 0.5 seconds] “He'd start over again and again.”
P But I saw something in his eyes. [PAUSE 0.75 seconds] A spark. [LONG PAUSE 1.5-2 seconds] F This was something he wanted.
Delivery: Use a softer voice for “A spark.” Then return with firm conviction for “This was something he wanted.”
MF Later, the orphanage director told me Antony wasn't a "school kid." He struggled with math, science, language — the classroom just wasn't built for him. But at the piano, he was someone else entirely. He hung on every word I said. He tried, and tried again, just to get one note right.
Delivery: Keep the classroom section restrained. Warm the voice at “But at the piano.” Build slightly through “He tried, and tried again.” [PAUSE 0.75 seconds]
F "That's the moment I understood what we're actually building. It's not a music program. It's a place where a kid who's been told he doesn't fit anywhere finally finds the one place he does."
Delivery: This is the emotional center. FF Use your strongest grounded voice on “It's not a music program.” Then slow down and soften slightly as you reach “the one place he does.” [LONG PAUSE 2 seconds] Keep Slide 4 visible.
MF This award isn't mine — it belongs to every staff member and volunteer who's taught a kid like Antony, and to every kid like Antony who taught us why this work matters.
Delivery: Bring the award back to the team. Use a firm but generous tone on “isn't mine” and soften on “why this work matters.” [PAUSE 1 second]
Change to Slide 5 · Closing thank-you
Change slides when you begin: “We're growing now, from music into English education too...” Keep it visible through the final thanks. Approx. 2:15-2:39
F We're growing now, from music into English education too — more kids, more opportunities, more sparks waiting to be found. P Thank you for helping us get there.
Delivery: Build hopeful energy through “more kids, more opportunities.” Then make the final sentence personal and warm, not ceremonial. [HOLD FINAL SLIDE 3-5 seconds]
